Farewell Tribute to Our Groundsman

You have likely heard that our Head Groundsman, Mark Sleightholme, will be bidding farewell this coming Saturday. This follows the Football Club's difficult decision to reduce its full-time staff, which also saw Club Secretary and Communications Manager Mark Simpson leave his post.

Mark has long been a beloved figure among supporters at the Brewery Field. Over the years, he has overseen a remarkable transformation of the playing surface, turning it from a dry, patchy pitch into the lush, well-maintained field we all admire today.

Mark’s Impact on the Club

His dedication and expertise have not only improved the quality of the pitch but also contributed significantly to the players’ performance and the overall matchday experience. Many fans and players alike have praised his hard work and commitment.

A Fond Farewell

As Mark prepares to leave, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for his years of service. His legacy will remain visible every time the team takes to the field. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and hope he stays connected with the club and its supporters.

In recognition of his service the Supporters Club have presented Mark with an engraved tulip pint glass 🍺 along with a couple of cases of his favourite beer.
